As a general rule, the fairer the skin, the easier the treatment.
IPL laser hair removal and vein treatment work by seeking out areas of colour contrast, i.e. darker hair or prominent veins against paler skin.

Skin type is measured using the Fitzpatrick scale as shown.
The Fitzpatrick scale is used for measuring skin tone, which is essential prior to considering any laser treatment.
Your consultation includes assessment of your skin type. There is no obligation, so you can find out whether you are suitable for treatment or not.
We advise IPL laser patients to avoid the sun and any tanning treatments during their laser.
