Suitable Weight Loss Programmes
Your BMI is a really good indicator of which weight loss programme would be most suitable. This is not set in stone - any recommendation would also include a review of your medical history and an examination by a weight loss expert. However, the following guidelines are used as the basis for our recommendations:
-
Less than 19
- Underweight
- You are not a candidate for weight loss management and should allow your weight to increase to reach a healthy BMI
-
19 to 25
- Ideal weight
- You are not a candidate for weight loss management
-
25 to 30
- Mildly obese
- There is a low risk to your health.
- A little weight loss through diet, exercise and other lifestyle changes would help. You may consider weight loss clinics or the gastric balloon
-

- Gastric bands can be used for BMI over 30
-
